Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or higher
• PHP 7.4 or higher
• No Telegram, no API keys, no external accounts needed

Installation

1. Purchase and download the .zip from for-wordpress.org
2. Go to WP Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
3. Upload the .zip file → click Install Now → Activate
4. A new menu item "Plugin Expenses" appears in your WP Admin sidebar

Adding Your First Expense

1. Go to WP Admin → Plugin Expenses → Dashboard
2. Click "Add Expense"
3. Fill in: Plugin Name, Cost, Billing Cycle, Category, Purchase Date, Renewal Date
4. Optionally add: License Key, Notes
5. Click Save

Stat Cards

Four cards at the top of the dashboard:

Expense Table

Columns: Plugin Name, Category, Cost, Billing Cycle, Renewal Date, Status, Actions

• Status badge: Active / Overdue / Upcoming / Inactive
• Edit and Delete buttons per row
• Active/Inactive toggle per expense

Filtering & Sorting

• Filter by category (dropdown)
• Filter by status (All / Active / Inactive / Overdue)
• Sort by any column (click column header)
• Search by plugin name

Overdue Renewals

Red cards showing plugins whose renewal date has passed.

Upcoming Renewals (Next 30 Days)

Yellow cards for renewals coming up in the next 30 days.

Cost Breakdown

Horizontal bar chart showing your yearly spend by category.

Each bar shows: category name, total amount, percentage of total spend.

Free Alternative Finder

Automatically matches your tracked expenses against 16 built-in entries. For each match, you see:

• Free alternative plugin name
• Why it works (one-line explanation)
• Direct WordPress.org link
• Potential yearly savings if you switch
